About the Author
Brian Evans began walking in Silverdale with his parents in the 1940s, while living in nearby Morecambe. Since then he has continually returned to enjoy the inspiring combination of scenery and wildlife.
Brian has always had an adventurous streak, reflected in his outdoor activities which include trekking, climbing, skiing, caving, wild water canoeing and, more recently, mountain biking. These activities have taken him into many beautiful parts of the world, but always on returning to the Silverdale area he appreciates the special qualities so near home.
Brian was educated in Leeds, including at the College of Art. He worked in design, printing, and publishing before retirement. He lives near Preston with his wife Aileen, who shares his love of the countryside and outdoor activities.
