KLEINWALSERTAL: AROUND RIEZLERN AND MITTELBERG (WALKS 9–12)

Tourist office: Kleinwalsertal Tourismus (main office), Walserhaus, Walserstrasse 264, A-6992 Hirschegg. Tel +43 (0)5517 5114–0, www.kleinwalsertal.com, info@kleinwalsertal.com

Riezlern is the largest settlement in the valley and is densely packed with hotels, restaurants, sports and souvenir shops. Probably the most interesting fact for walkers is that the Kanzelwand cable railway begins here. There are three campsites in the near vicinity.

Mittelberg is the oldest parish in the Kleinwalsertal with a parish church that dates from 1463. Plenty of walks start in or near the town, and there is a nicely situated campsite only a few kilometres further south in the direction of Baad.
